IRVING, Texas – FIU swimmer Christie Chue named the American Athletic Conference swimmer of the week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Chue shined in the Mizzou Invite last week as she tallied three first-place finishes in the midseason meet. The senior had a time of 2:08.95 for the 200-yard breaststroke, which is the top time in the AAC. It marks as the 18th best time in the nation, while just finishing tenths of a second of her time in the NCAA Championships this past year. In addition, it qualifies for a NCAA-B Cut.
Chue followed up with a first-place finish in the 200 IM, pacing for a time of 1:57.73, another top time in the American and 30th in the country. The Singapore swimmer wrapped up the meet taking home first in the 100 Breast as her time of 1:00.17 , is 2nd in the AAC and top 30 in the nation.
It marks as the second time this season Chue has been honored as the AAC swimmer of the week, earning it on Nov. 4 after her standout performance in the tri-meet against Nova Southeastern and Lynn.
