MIAMI — FIU's men's basketball program hosts Trinity College (FL) on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. to tip-off its final homestand of 2023.
The Panthers (3-8) look to bounce back after a 94-60 defeat to FAU on Wednesday evening in Boca Raton, Fla.
Jaidon Lipscomb produced a solid outing off the bench, scoring 17 second-half points to lead the Panthers. Javaunte Hawkins chipped in 12 points, making 4-of-8 attempts from distance.
Arturo Dean grabbed three steals and maintains his mark as the NCAA's leader in steals (48) and steals per game (4.22). He also ranks first in CUSA with 4.9 apg and his 13.2 ppg is eighth-best.
FIU's matchup with Trinity will be followed by contests with Stetson (Dec. 19) and Maine (Dec. 21) to conclude the Panthers' home non-conference slate. FIU will then take on Utah Tech on the road on Saturday, Dec. 30 to wrap up the non-conference schedule before taking on Jax State on the road to open up CUSA play on Jan. 6.
