ORLANDO, Fla. – The FIU women's tennis team handled business to bounce back into the win column on Thursday afternoon, dropping Air Force (3-3) in clinch-clinch fashion, 4-0, to move to 4-2 on the season.
The Panthers notched the doubles point behind
Yasmine Kabbaj and
Oyinlomo Quadre's third straight win at the No. 2 position, 6-2, over Air Force's Haily Stelse and Isabella Flodin, followed by
Salma Loudili and
Katerina Mandelikova securing the 1-0 advantage in No. 3 doubles over Air Force's Andrea Le and Courtney Swift, 6-1.
FIU then claimed the first singles wins back-to-back-to-back, starting with freshman
Ekaterina Khairutdinova opening the run with her third straight win at the No. 2 position, 6-3, 6-1, over Air Force's Alexis Odom.
Junior
Salma Loudili bounced back into the win column, adding her fourth dual win in straight sets over Arianna Van Houwelin, 6-1, 6-2, prior to
Yasmine Kabbaj recording her first dual win this season while recording the clincher at the top spot over Air Force's Sydney Fitch, 6-2, 6-2.
Salma Loudili (4-2) and
Ekaterina Khairutdinova (4-1) continue to pace the Panthers with four dual singles wins apiece, while Kabbaj broke a four-match skid with the match-clinching victory.
Conversely,
Yasmine Kabbaj and
Oyinlomo Quadre have exceled together in doubles at 4-2, while Loudili and
Katerina Mandelikova possess a 3-1 mark at the No. 3 position continuing to build their chemistry.

FIU returns to action in Orlando, Fla., next Friday, Feb. 24, when it travels to face No. 2 Texas A&M at the USTA National Campus for a 12 p.m. match.
