Miami, Fla.– Senior guard
Kaliah Henderson paced the Panthers with 15 points as the FIU Women's Basketball team fell to Middle Tennessee State University (22-4, 15-2 C-USA), 85-46, at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
The loss drops FIU's record to 12-13 on the season and 7-9 in Conference USA action, as the Lady Raiders continue to be at the top of the conference standings and extended their winning streak to four games.
Henderson shot 43 percent from the field (6-14), was 3-4 from the foul line and third on the Panthers with four rebounds. She has now scored in double figures in 11 straight games and 14 of the last 15.
Sophomore guard
Tanajah Hayes was second on the Panthers with 11 points and shot 5-9 from the field and chipped in four rebounds and two assists. Redshirt junior
Mihaela Lazic matched a career high with five assists while junior forward
Ajae Yoakum led FIU on the boards with eight rebounds.
The Lady Raiders had four players record double figure points led by Jaylnn, Bellamy with 20 points. Bellamy also led MTSU with four steals while Courtney Whitson finished with 19 points and a team high six rebounds. The Lady Raiders shot 54 percent from the field and found a lot of success from behind the arc shooting 43% (9-21).
UP NEXT
The Panthers will step away from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center and head to Texas for their final road trip of the 2022-2023 season. The two-game slate will begin on Thursday, Feb. 23 to take on the UTEP Miners at 9 p.m. and continue in San Antonio for a Saturday afternoon matchup against UTSA on Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. Both games will be streamed on CUSAtv.
