BOCA RATON, Fla. – FIU freshman Megan Kruger tossed her second consecutive complete game and the sixth straight for the Panthers overall in the FIU softball team's 1-0 loss at Florida Atlantic in the finale of a three-game series on Saturday afternoon.
 
Kruger (6-4) suffered the loss despite going the distance and limiting the Owls to just one run and three hits.  Kruger has now pitched a total of five complete games this season, including the last two straight.
 
The Panthers' starting pitchers have tossed a complete game in each of the last six contests overall.
 
The Owls (26-13, 8-4 C-USA) registered the game's only run in the bottom of the second on a one-out single to center that plated Zoey Jones.
 
FAU starting pitcher Gabby Sacco (15-3) made the one run stand up as she retired 14 of the final 15 hitters she faced and held the Panthers scoreless over the complete seven innings.  She allowed three hits and walked one, while striking out five.
 
The Panthers (18-21, 5-10 C-USA) best chance to tie the game came when Ella Whitney launched a double to left center with two outs in the seventh, before she was left stranded.
 
Madison Lewis, Frankie Izard and Whitney recorded hits for the Panthers in the loss.
