DENTON, Texas (May 10, 2023) - The FIU track and field program is set to compete at the Conference USA outdoor track and field championships, hosted by UNT in Denton Thursday through Sunday.

The action begins Thursday at 2:45 p.m. CT with the heptathlon. The decathlon is scheduled to follow at 3:15 p.m. Friday will begin with the first field event of the meet, men's hammer throw at 2 p.m. CT. Multi-events continue Friday and the first running event, the women's 10,000 meter, commences at 8 p.m.
"The start of the postseason is always an exciting time," said head coach
Ryan Heberling. "I'm looking forward for the opportunities our athletes will have to compete at a high level."
FIU's run at the indoor championships in February was one to remember, as the Panther women sat in first place after the first day of competition. The pole vault tandem of
Nicole Janse Van Rensburg,
Filippa Miller, and
Kristin Lubeskie swept the podium, while
Michaelle Valentin,
Elizabeth Alfred, and
Celia Rifaterra also earned a spot on the podium in their respective events.
