TAMPA – FIU men's and women's outdoor track & field had a strong weekend at the USF Alumni Invitational, one that saw multiple records fall and some top-10 performances across the board. Two records on the men's side fell during the weekend.

To get things going for outdoor season, Blake Orr claimed an event win in the very first event of the weekend, winning the javelin with a personal-best throw of 66.58m. Orr broke his previous record set at last year's NCAA East Regionals.

Raynell Chambers broke the school record in the 200m dash, placing third behind two athletes from the University of Minnesota and finishing with a time of 20.63.

Freshman Agustin Carril claimed the school record on the men's side in the pole vault, placing third among all collegiate runners and behind two P4 athletes from Rutgers with a jump of 5.25m.

As for top 10s, Janiya Cesar continued her strong season by furthering her third-place mark in the hammer throw, placing second in the event. She broke her previous mark with a throw of 60.26m.

Tim Beauchamp had a strong performance in the discus, setting the freshman record and claiming fourth in school history with a throw of 52.28m in his first outdoor competition of the season. This performance placed him seventh in the event.
