MIAMI – The FIU women's soccer team is set to open their home slate on Thursday, Aug. 24th at 7 p.m. EST against the Jacksonville Dolphins from FIU Soccer Stadium.

The Panthers (2-0, 0-0 CUSA) return back to the 305 after an historic first two games of the season which saw FIU score a combined 13 goals, the most in program history to begin a season.
FIU competed in the Lester Bimah Battle on the Bayou, winning their first game 6-0 vs Alcorn State and wrapping up the tournament in 7-0 blowout vs Nicholls State.
The Blue & Gold were led in contributions by junior Nikole Solis and sophomore Kim Schneider. Both recorded three goals, seven points, and an assist each.
Juniors Noemi Paquin and Izelle Barriere were standouts in Thibadouex, La. tallying two goals including Paquin with five points.
Sophomores Kennedy Floyd, Chinatsu Kaio and graduate student Camille Sahirul all notched a score hedging the net.
Graduate student Ithaisa Vinoly shined as the netkeeper with three saves total including a shutout vs Nicholls State
The 2-0 start for FIU is the best start in program since the 1998 season.
FIU is 4-4 against Jacksonville with the last matchup on Aug. 21, 2021 where the Dolphins picked up the 3-2 victory.
The Panthers last win over the Dolphins came on Feb. 14, 2021 in a 1-0 shutout win.
SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE
The Jacksonville Dolphins (1-1, 0-0 ASUN) heads to Miami coming off a loss to #12 ranked South Carolina Gamecocks 6-0 on Aug. 20th.
Jacksonville began their season on Aug. 16th with a 4-1 victory over Alabama A&M.
They are led by sophomore and Fort Lauderdale product Anaya Black who returns after leading the Dolphins in four goals in 2022 while playing in all 16 matches. Black notched a goal in the win over Alabama A&M. Freshman Nya Bridgewater is tied with points (2) and has a a goal thus far into the early season.
The Dolphins were picked seventh in the Atlantic Sun Preseason Poll after finishing last season with a 6-5-5 record.

The Panthers will head up to Starkville, Miss. to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Sunday, Aug. 27 to continue non-conference action. O First kick from Mississippi State Soccer Field is set for 7:30 p.m. EST and can be streamed on SEC Network +.
