MIAMI – FIU junior tight end
Josiah Miamen has been named to the 2023 John Mackey Award Watch List, which was announced on Friday by the John Mackey Award Selection Committee.
Miamen is one of 48 student-athletes selected to the watch list for the prestigious award, which is presented annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end. The award recipient is selected from a vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee.
Miamen hauled in a total of 27 passes for 242 yards and a touchdown as a sophomore in 2022. He nabbed a season-high seven catches for 65 yards and a score in the season finale against Middle Tennessee. He made multiple receptions in seven contests in 2022.
Miamen's selection marks the second consecutive season and the eighth time overall that a FIU player has been named to the Mackey Watch List, joining
Rivaldo Fairweather (2022), Sterling Palmer (2019), Jonnu Smith (2014/2015/2016), Ya'Keem Griner (2015) and Samuel Smith (2006).
