MIAMI – The FIU Volleyball team improved to a perfect 2-0 in Conference USA action as it wrapped up the weekend with a second consecutive 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-19) sweep over Louisiana Tech on Saturday afternoon at Ocean Bank Arena in Miami.
For the match, the Panthers hit .324 overall and limited the Bulldogs to a .204 clip as they forced Louisiana Tech into 11 hitting errors. FIU won the first set by a convincing eight-point margin as it .390 (20-4-41) overall for the frame before following with a 26-24 in the second and 25-19 in the third stanza.
Syra Tanchin tabbed 17 kills for the Panthers in the victory, while
Jade Sadeiko added 13 while hitting .545 overall (13-1-22).
Mandi Morioka led the defensive effort with 21 digs.
Savannah Cook directed the offense with 40 assists.
UP NEXT
Following Saturday's finale vs. the Bulldogs, the Panthers will hit the road to Huntsville, Texas to take on the Sam Houston Bearkats on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. EST and Saturday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. EST.
