MIAMI – The (RV) FIU Men's Soccer team is back home for a pivotal conference matchup against the South Florida Bulls for Childhood Cancer Awareness Night on Friday.

FIU comes off a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over the Memphis Tigers this past Saturday, Sep. 23, picking up their second consecutive American Athletic Conference win.

In addition, Dos Santos Monteiro, Mustre, and
Owen Travis all were named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll for their contributions in the road win.
The offense is led by Mustre, who leads the team in goals (5) and points (11) in his first season donning the Blue & Gold. The Córdoba, Mexico has scored goals in back-to-back games.
Newcomer
Kasper Skraep has shined with a pair of goals on the season and five points.
Veterans Dos Santos Monterio and Fumiya Shirashi have been impactful with 37 hots combined on the early campaign.
On the backline,
Owen Travis leads the team on defense having played in a total of 699 minutes on the pitch.
In net, goalkeeper
Tyler Hogan played the second half in the Memphis win, holding the Tigers to no goals and notched a save.
INTERNATIONAL
FIU embraces its name with a truly international roster. This season's Panthers have players from 15 different countries.
The USA leads the way with four players. Denmark, Mexico and France each have three representatives. Portugal, Japan and Germany have two representatives each.
LAST TIME OUT
Heading into Friday's contest, FIU has played South Florida eight times, dating back to the 2006 season.
Last season, FIU sealed a 2-0 win on Nov. 13 to clinch their first ever AAC Championship in program history.
The Panthers faced the Bulls earlier in 2022 on Oct. 16 in a 3-3 draw from Tampa.
SCOUTING THE BULLS
The Bulls come into the contest with a pair of wins on the seasons including a ranked win over Indiana on Sep. 8 and Sep. 17 against Elon.
South Florida lost their first conference matchup of the season, dropping a 2-1 match at home to #3 SMU.
Offensively, the Bulls are led by graduate student Jalen Anderson, who leads the Bulls in goals (3), while tied in points (6) alongside Ajmeer Spengler.
At net, Alan Horrocks has started in all seven games, notching 21 saves with a 1.71 goals against average. Horrocks totaled for a season-high of five saves against SMU.
