MIAMI (Sept. 4, 2023) – No. 7 FIU men's soccer goalkeeper Tyler Hogan was named to the American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the week, announced the conference on Monday. Defender Kasper Skraep and forward Paulo Alves were also named to the honorable mention team.
 
Hogan was stout in goal in both of the Panthers' matches last week, helping post clean sheets against VCU and Central Arkansas.
 
His three saves against Central Arkansas helped FIU earn a 0-0 draw. In the match against VCU he made four saves as the Panthers went on to win 4-0.
 
Through three matches, Hogan has stopped 13 shots, including a penalty shot, and allowed only one goal.
 
Skraep has been phenomenal in his first three games as a Panther. He helped FIU shutout both opponents las week and also scored his first goal for the Panthers, a dramatic header in the final second of the first half against VCU.
 
Paulo Alves has proven to be a danger man down the right wing. He netted his first goal of the season against VCU.
 
Alves leads all forwards in minutes this season with 220 and has put three of his five shots on target.
 
UP NEXT
The Panthers are back at home on Friday, Sept. 8 to take on No. 19 New Hampshire. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the match can be streamed on ESPN+.
