MIAMI – The FIU women's soccer team continues their homestand on Thursday as they battle with crosstown foe, the Miami Hurricanes from FIU Soccer Stadium.

The Panthers (4-1-1, 0-0 CUSA) are coming off a 2-2 draw this past Sunday to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. After being down a two-goal deficit heading into the half, FIU tallied two goals from sophomore
Kim Schneider and junior
Noemi Paquin in the last 45 minutes to notch their first draw of the season.
Their 23 goals scored through the first six games are the most scored to begin a season in program history.
The offense is led by Solis, who leads the team in goals (7) and points (16), while sitting atop in those categories in Conference USA. In addition, her seven goals has placed her top five nationally in Division I.
The FIU scoring has been a reason for success with three players including Solis with two or more goals scored as sophomores
Kim Schneider (4), Floyd (3), and juniors
Noemi Paquin (3) and
Izelle Barriere (2) have all had success through the back of the net.
Schneider has blossomed in her sophomore campaign with already nine points, five more than her total from a season ago.
Paquin has shined with the attacking line as her 22 shots on goal lead all of CUSA and 21
st in the nation.
Graduate student
Camille Sahirul has created pivotal goal opportunities for the offense fifth in the conference in assists (3).
Panther's backline has been strong allowing just two goals in four games against their competition with graduate student
Anna Rockett, and junior
Reagan Bridges have brought a steady force to the defense.
Goalkeeper
Ithaisa Vinoly has started in all six games, having notched a total of 14 saves with a 0.70 goals against average, and three shutouts tied for first in CUSA. Her three clean-sheets have tied her career high in a FIU uniform, dating back to the 2021 season.
LAST TIME OUT
Dating back from 2004, both programs have a total of 10 times, with their last match coming on Sep, 9. 2021 as the Hurricanes won 3-0 in Coral Gables.
The victory for FIU over Miami came on Sep, 11. 2016 in a 1-0 win.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
The Hurricanes are coming off their second loss of the season, losing to the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 2-1, on Sunday, Sept. 3. Miami held a 1-0 into the 87
th minute before allowing two goals to drop the road matchup.
Miami has notched a pair of draws including to a ranked opponent in Alabaman and in the Florida Gators.
The Hurricanes has a total of five different goal scorers with junior Lauren Meeks leading the team with a goal and assist each this season. Meeks led the team in goals (3) in 2022.
Goalkeeper Melissa Dagenais has started in all six games this season with a GAA of 0.85, having allowed five goals and made 23 saves.
