Miami, Fla — The FIU Women's Basketball Team drops its first game in over a month to Middle Tennessee by a score of 92-62 at the Oceanbank Convocation Center Saturday afternoon.
MTSU (16-4, 6-0 CUSA) shot the ball well, hitting 62.9% of their three-balls and 59.6% overall. The Blue Raiders strung together a lead early and never looked back, despite the Panthers' (15-6, 5-1 CUSA) run at a comeback in the second and third quarter where they shot 45% from the field and had a positive score differential.
Kaliah Henderson had her best game of the year in the afternoon, putting up a season high 26 points on 12-18 shooting. The guard out of Tampa scored 17 points in the first half alone on 8-9 shooting and 1-1 from three. The graduate student added on a rebound and a steal to round out her great performance.
Sophomore guards Angena Belloso and Mya Kone also put up double digits, with Belloso ending with 12 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Pompano Beach native Kone ended the afternoon with 10 points, including 4-6 from the free-throw line, eight rebounds, a block and a steal. This marks the seventh time in the past nine games that Kone has put up double-digits in a game.
