Volleyball Hosts Kennesaw State Friday, Saturday

The Panthers take on the Owls at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday

MIAMI — FIU's volleyball program welcomes Kennesaw State for the first time in Conference USA (CUSA) play for two matches this weekend inside the Ocean Bank Convocation Center. 

The Panthers (2-19, 0-8 CUSA) take on the Owls (9-12, 6-4 CUSA) in their first season as CUSA member.

FIU will have two themed matches this weekend as Friday features as its Vice Night and Dig Pink initiative. Saturday will be the Panthers' Halloween match, where fans are encouraged to attend in costume. 

FIU fell in both of its matches last weekend to New Mexico State on the road. This will start a string of four-straight CUSA matches at home for the Panthers. 

SCOUTING THE OWLS

Kennesaw State split its matches with Sam Houston at home last weekend, falling in four sets on Friday and winning in four on Saturday. The Owls had previously been on four-match conference win streak, sweeping both Jax State and Liberty. 

Olivia Burrage sits fifth in the conference in hitting percentage at a .322 clip and has totaled 139 kills so far this season. She is also in the top-10 in CUSA in blocks per set with 0.91. 

The Owls have also shown prowess from the service line with Manu Johnsen and Kourtney Brown, whom sits sixth and seventh in CUSA, respectively.
