MIAMI — FIU's volleyball program will take on Middle Tennessee in Conference USA (CUSA) play in its first road trip in conference play this weekend.
The Panthers (2-13, 0-2 CUSA) take on the Blue Raiders (4-10, 0-2 CUSA) for two matches on Oct. 4-5 in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

FIU fell in its first two CUSA contests last weekend against a strong UTEP team. The Panthers have been led by Jillian Huckabey this season with her 167 kills, eighth-most in CUSA.
During this season, FIU has also received solid contributions from Anna Feldkamp and Kira Givens on the offensive end. Mandi Morioka ranks sixth in CUSA with 3.93 digs per set to anchor the defensive effort. Setter Kaylee Musick featured in both games last weekend and has totaled 197 assists on the season.
Last year, FIU split with MTSU during the regular season at home, winning in five and then losing in five on Oct. 3-4, respectively. The Panthers then went on to earn five-set victory over the Blue Raiders in the opening round of the 2023 CUSA Tournament.
SCOUTING MTSU
Middle Tennessee (4-10, 0-2 CUSA) hosts its first CUSA weekend of the season following two defeats at Sam Houston on Sept. 26-27. The Blue Raiders are led offensively by Kiera Booth and her 149 kills. Her .320 attack percentage ranks seventh in CUSA. Adri Rhoda has also been a big part of the Blue Raider offense with her CUSA-leading 3.89 kills per set, having totaled 214 kills already this season.
Setter Andy Spies is fourth in assists per set in the conference with 8.96 and facilitates the MTSU attack. Emma Nilson is a strong defender at the net with 42.0 total blocks, which ranks 10th-best in CUSA.
