MIAMI — FIU's volleyball program hits the road for two matches at Jacksonville State in Conference USA (CUSA) play Friday and Saturday. 

The Panthers (5-20, 3-9 CUSA) take on the Gamecocks (7-18, 0-12 CUSA) as winners of three of their last four Conference USA contests. FIU split with Kennesaw State and then swept Liberty in its previous two CUSA two-game matchups.

For her efforts against Kennesaw State, earned CUSA Defensive Player of the Week honors. The junior libero from Torrance, Calif. racked up 22 digs FIU's first CUSA, adding five assists and two service aces with zero reception errors.

She followed that with another solid performance in Saturday's matchup, collecting 24 digs, posting a season-high and matching a career-high. Morioka currently sits fourth in the conference with 362 digs, an average of 4.21 per set. 

Against Liberty, the Panthers won in four sets and pulled off a five-set reverse sweep in those two contests. Anna Feldkamp combined for 27 kills to lead the FIU offense. 

The Panthers now sit in eighth in the CUSA standings are three games ahead of both Jax State and La Tech for the final spot in the CUSA Tournament. 

SCOUTING THE GAMECOCKS

Jax State is in search of its first CUSA victory this weekend, falling most recently to Sam Houston in four and five sets. Kayla Williams leads the attack with 376 kills, averaging 3.92 kills per set. 

Caty Havekost also has 220 kills in support while Sanni Rantanen has 172 to assist the attack. Ellie Garrett is JSU's primary setter with 875 assists.
