Women's Soccer Sees Their Season End in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament

AUBURN - FIU Women's Soccer ends their historic 2024 season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in a 4-1 loss against Auburn.

The Tigers started hot, scoring their first goal of the night in the fourth minute of the match. Auburn would go on to score again in the 24th minute before the halftime buzzer sounded, ending the first half up 2-0.

Out of the half, FIU played good defense, allowing just five shots and two shots on goal through the first 32 minutes of the second half, before Auburn tacked on another score at the 77:17 mark, going up 3-0.

FIU found the back of the net in the 80th minute, with junior Catherine Rapp shooting a strike into the top right corner of the goal, her fourth score of the season. The Colorado native had two shots, one shot on goal and one goal on the night.

The Tigers would tack on one more before the game finalized, ending 4-1.

The 2024 Panthers end the season as Conference USA Regular Season Champions, Conference USA Tournament Champions and allowing the sixth fewest goals (18) and scoring the seventh most goals (41) in program history. The team is just the third FIU team ever to make the NCAA Tournament, the first since 2011.
