MIAMI - FIU Women's Basketball will be back at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center for a matchup against in-state rival Florida Atlantic for a matinee matchup on November 23 at 1 p.m.

The Panthers are coming off a recent 79-51 loss to Miami last Tuesday evening, their third losing result of the season.
FIU and Miami ended the first quarter tied at 19 after the first frame concluded, with five Panthers scoring led by senior Tanajah Hayes with five points. It would be the most points in a quarter FIU scored in the contest.
Miami took the lead in the second quarter and did not give it up for the rest of the contest. FIU trailed going into the half, 40-27.Â
The Panthers played good defense in the third quarter, holding the Hurricanes to 5-19 from the field and 1-11 from three. In the contest, FIU held the 'Canes to just 43.3% shooting and 22.7% from beyond the arc, the latter of which being the second-fewest on the season thus far.
FIU was led by junior Parris Atkins with 12 points, and had two players go for nine on the evening from senior Isnelle Natabou and sophomore Fantasia James.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
Florida Atlantic is in their third season under head coach Jennifer Sullivan's watch, starting the 2024-25 campaign 3-2. The Owls were selected to finish last in the American Athletic Conference, after finishing the 2023-24 season 11-19 and 6-12 in conference play.Â
So far this season FAU is scoring 60.6 points per game and allowing 59 points per game through five contests. They are shooting 35.1% from the field to go along with a 31.2% shooting mark from three. The Owls are out-rebounding their opponents 43-40.8.
They are currently led by freshman Eric Rodgers with 12.2 points per game to go along with 5.4 rebounds per game. Two other Owls are averaging double-digits in junior Mya Perry with 11.2 and senior Jada Moore with 10.6. Senior Ta'ziah Jenks leads the squad in rebounds per game with 6.4.
FIU beat Florida Atlantic last season in Boca Raton with a 65-62 victory.
