Miami, Fla - FIU Women's Basketball will go up against Abilene Christian at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Friday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m.

The Panthers are coming off a victory in their first matchup of the season over Florida National, beating the Conquistadors 132-25 in the contest, breaking the record for most points scored all time in a single game in program history.
Every Panther scored in the contest, with junior Mya Kone leading the way with 21 points and 14 rebounds, her first double-double of the season. Six other Panthers scored in double-digits with several newcomers making their presence felt, led by Lucia Fleta Robles who had 18 points on 5-7 shooting and 3-4 from three.
Bineta Diatta and Judit Valero Rodriguez both had 16 on the evening, while Parris Atkins put up 15. True freshman Claudia Marina Gonzalez, in her first collegiate game, ended with 13 points.
Aaliyah Pitts led with three steals in the matchup, while five other Panthers ended with two a piece, finishing the game with 17 total steals as a team.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Abilene Christian, out of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), ended the 2023-24 campaign 14-16 and 10-10 in conference play, good for sixth at the end of the regular season, losing in the first round of the WAC Tournament to Tarleton State, 54-41.
The Wildcats return their top-2 scorers from the 2023-24 season in Peyton Hull and Bella Earle. The sophomore Hull put up a team high 14.9 points per game last season, sixth in the conference, as well as 3.4 rebounds and two assists. The guard shot 42.7% from the field to go along with a 35.3% three-point field goal percentage. Her counterpart in junior Bella Earle was 16th in the WAC in points per game with 12.2, with the guard bringing down 8.17 rebounds per game, second in the WAC, and 3.83 assists per game, seventh in the conference last season.
This will only be the second time the two programs have faced off, with the only other time coming in the 2021 WBI. The Panthers came out on top in that matchup, winning 78-61.
