MIAMI – FIU formally introduced new football head coach Willie Simmons at a festive press conference on Monday afternoon at the Graham Center on the FIU campus.
 
The press conference was presented to media, fans and alumni in attendance in support of the FIU Football program.
 
Simmons boasts a winning record in each of his previous eight seasons as a head coach and posted four straight seasons of nine or more wins. 
 
His overall record as a head coach stands at an impressive 66-24.  He was honored as the SWAC Coach of the Year in 2023 – the same season he guided Florida A&M to the HBCU National Championship.
