TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The FIU softball team came up on the short end in a pair of games against Nicholls on Friday at the Florida State Dugout Classic in Tallahassee.
The Panthers (6-9) dropped the opener 11-1 before falling 3-0 in the finale.

The Colonels closed out the win with four runs in the seventh.
Casey Goguts led the Panthers in the loss with a pair o hits, including a double.
The Panthers utilized three pitchers in the opener with starter
Sydney Birling (1-2) taking the loss after allowing five runs, three of which were earned, over three innings.
The second game saw all the scoring come in the top of the fourth for Nicholls who tabbed three runs in the frame on the strength of a pair of run-scoring singles and a run crossing on a wild pitch.
The Panthers were limited to three singles in the loss by Nicholls starting pitcher Molly Yoo, who went the full seven innings to pick up the victory. FIU starter
Jordyn Ages (1-2) took the loss after allowing three runs and 12 hits over seven innings of work.
