No. 25 Women’s Tennis Extends Win Streak to 12 with Victory over Delaware

FIU won the doubles point and four singles matches

MIAMI — FIU's 25th-ranked women's tennis program won its 12th-straight match on Monday afternoon, defeating Delaware 5-2.

The Panthers (13-2) and the Blue Hens played to a doubles clinch and completion of all six singles matches. FIU won doubles to take a 1-0 lead and took 4-of-6 singles matches to move to 8-0 at home. 

Salma Loudili and Ekaterina Khairutdinova started off the Panthers with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Katerina Mandelikova and Valery Gynina won the final two sets at No. 1 doubles to earn a 7-5 win, securing the 1-0 lead for FIU. 

Khairutdinova also earned a victory in singles, defeating Delaware's No. 1 6-0, 6-4. Petja Drame picked up a victory early on as well, winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. 

Mandelikova clinched the match for FIU, giving the Panthers a 4-0 lead with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) win at No. 3 singles. Kristyna Hranacova earned FIU's final victory of the day at No. 6, 6-2, 7-5 (14-12).
