MIAMI — FIU's 27th-ranked women's tennis swept Middle Tennessee State in Conference USA (CUSA) action for its seventh-straight match victory.
The Panthers (8-2) maintained their undefeated home record with a sweep in their first and only CUSA regular season match.
FIU made quick work of the doubles competition with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles to start the match with a 1-0 advantage. The Panthers then won t Nos. 1, 2 and 4 singles to earn the 4-0 win.
Oyinlomo Quadre and Katerina Mandelikova handled their opponents at No. 1 doubles 6-3. Salma Loudili and Ekaterina Khairutdinova followed that with a 6-2 win at the No. 2 slot.
Khairutdinova blanked her opponent at No. 2 doubles, 6-0, 6-0, to give FIU a 2-0 lead. Quadre and Mandelikova won by identical scores of 6-1, 6-0 at Nos. 1 and 3, respectively, to clinch the match for the Panthers.
