MIAMI — FIU men's basketball alumnus Radshad Davis has earned a selection to the Bahamian National Team and will represent Team Bahamas in its upcoming Olympic qualifying action.
Davis, a member of the Panthers during the 2020-21 season, will team up with NBA stars DeAndre Ayton, Buddy Hield and Eric Gordon along with a slew of other talented players to represent the Bahamas. Team Bahamas is set to play in the upcoming 2024 FIBA men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQTs), which runs from July 2-7.
The Bahamian squad will play in a six-team, two-group pod in Greece for a chance to earn a berth to the 2024 Olympics in Paris. In Group B, the Bahamas are joined by Finland and Poland. Group A has Lebanon, Angola and Spain to round out the six teams battling for an Olympic berth.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. The winner will earn automatic qualification to the Paris Olympic Games.
Davis averaged 13.1 ppg and 6.4 rpg during the 2020-21 season and started in all 16 games he appeared in. The forward shot 47.9 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from three and 82.8 percent from the free throw line.
