MIAMI – Oumy Diop and
Nicole Frank of the FIU women's swimming and diving team are set to represent the Blue & Gold on a global stage beginning this week, with the two Panthers appearing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Diop, representing Senegal, will compete in the women's 100-meter butterfly on Saturday, July 27 with her heat beginning at 5 a.m ET. Frank, a native of Uruguay, will challenge in the women's 200-meter individual medley on Friday, Aug. 2, beginning at 5:14 a.m. ET.
Both events will stream live on Peacock and on the USA Network, meaning FIU can watch every second that their Panthers compete in Paris.
This marks the first time for Diop and second time for Frank participating in the Olympic Games, after Frank made her Olympic debuts in the 2021 Summer Games in Tokyo, Japan. In addition, it's the first time in program history that FIU will send a pair of swimmers to the summer games.
