Dallas, Texas - Defender Reagan Bridges and goalkeeper Valery Restrepo have been honored as Conference USA Defender of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week for the period ending August 25, league officials announced Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Reagan Bridges was key in securing two wins for the Panthers last week, the first in a 2-0 victory over rival, Florida Atlantic, and the second coming against Jacksonville, 3-0. The Colorado native played all 90 minutes against Florida Atlantic, her third time doing so this season. The center back was key in covering the defensive third for the Panthers, clearing any chances Florida Atlantic had. The Owls took nine shots, but only one was a shot on goal, a testament to Bridges' and the Panthers' tough defense.

The senior continued to play well at Jacksonville, playing 78 minutes in yet another shutout. The Panther defense, led by Bridges, allowed just six shots and four shots on goal the entire 90 minutes. Additionally, Jacksonville was able to garner just one corner kick in the 88th minute, which was not converted into a shot.

Goalkeeper Valery Restrepo continued to be a force in goal as she has been all season. The sophomore completed her first two shutouts of her career last week, with the first coming against Florida Atlantic on the Owls' home field. The Colombian native allowed zero goals on nine shots versus FAU, including one recorded save in the victory.

She continued her dominance at Jacksonville, not giving up a score on the six shots the Dolphins took against the Panthers. Restrepo was credited with three saves in the afternoon, her most in a victory in the 2024 campaign, putting her amount of the saves this season at nine in four games.

The awards mark the first Conference USA Player of the Week honors for both players in their careers.
