The Panthers will open up their 2024 season against tough competition in the opening weekend. FIU takes on UNI in its opening match, a 2023 NCAA Tournament qualifier. The Panthers' nightcap features a tilt with Ohio State, which is receiving votes in the top-25 of the AVCA Poll.

On Saturday, FIU will take on 22nd-ranked Dayton inside its home arena to conclude the Panthers' first weekend of play.

FIU expects to rely on a collection of returners and newcomers following a season in which the program qualified for the semifinals of the Conference USA (CUSA) Tournament.

Kira Givens, Travel Morris and Cameryn Jones can be expected to factor in offensively as veteran talent. Mandi Morioka will also play a role as a veteran presence, but on the defensive end.

Incoming transfers Colby Lane, Anna Feldkamp and Courtney O'Brien should also be an integral part of the 2024 edition of the Panthers. FIU also has a strong freshman class, headlined by Jillian Huckabey and Kaylee Musick

This tournament starts a stretch of four-straight weekend tournaments to start the season for the Panthers. A single match with Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton in Sept. 3 is sandwiched in between the first two weekends.

In that stretch, FIU will face a total of four teams that are currently receiving votes or are ranked in the opening AVCA Poll.

The Panthers will face Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Fla. on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. ET.
