FIU is led by freshman Jillian Huckabey and her team-high 32 kills in four matches. Her 2.91 kills per set rank 10th-most in Conference USA (CUSA). Fellow first-year Kaylee Musick is off to a good start as well with 7.6 assists per set, fourth-best in CUSA.

The Panthers fell to Florida Atlantic in their last match on Tuesday evening on the road in Boca Raton. FIU continues a stretch against tough competition to begin its season with its third and fourth match against Power Four competition when it takes on LSU and then Duke.

FIU's matchup with Duke will be a homecoming of sorts for Panther Head Coach Cristina Robertson. She served as Assistant Coach for the Blue Devil program for nine seasons from 2009-18.

SCOUTING LSU

LSU (2-1) opened its 2024 with a home tournament, hosting New Hampshire, Maryland and Troy. The Tigers downed New Hampshire in five and Maryland in four to take two wins on their opening day.

LSU then lost in five sets to Troy to conclude its first weekend of play. Jurnee Robinson had 73 kills in the opening three matches, an average of 5.21 kills per set. Robinson had back-to-back 20-kill, double-doubles as well.

SCOUTING DUKE

The Blue Devils (1-2) hosted a season-opening tournament last weekend, welcoming Colgate, No. 13 Kansas and South Carolina.

Duke defeated Colgate in five sets before falling to both Kansas and South Carolina in four. Kerry Keefe and Rylie Radel form a dual-headed attack with 43 and 42 kills, respectively. Ngozi Iloh will also factor in offensively and has started the season with 2.85 kills per set.

SCOUTING DAVIDSON

Davidson (2-1) hosted Elon, Marshall and East Tennessee to open its 2024 season at home. The Wildcats cruised to sweeps of Elon and Marshall, but lost in four to ETSU.

Jackie Barden and Emma Slusser combined for 60 kills in the opening weekend for Davidson. Isabel Decker chipped in 27 kills in support.
