MIAMI – The FIU volleyball program returns home for a four-game homestand, beginning this weekend with a matchup against Jacksonville State at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.

Saturday, Nov. 1 vs Jacksonville State (11-11, 5-5 CUSA)
FIU (14-9, 8-2 CUSA) comes off a standout weekend, completing a two-game sweep at Liberty. The victories marked their sixth consecutive win in CUSA play, the longest win streak in CUSA action since the program joined in 2013. The Panthers sit in fourth place with an 8-2 league mark and already have the most wins in a season since 2018.
Offensively,
Kira Givans leads the charge with 296 kills, ranking fifth in CUSA. She has played in all 23 matches and recorded 14 games with 10+ kills, including three 20+ kill performances. Givans set a career-high with 24 kills at Kennesaw State on Oct. 4 and added a 17-kill effort on Saturday, Oct. 25, in the road win. She earned CUSA Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 13.
Setter
Savannah Cook is having a career year in her senior campaign, leading the team with 747 assists, second-most in CUSA. Her 415 assists in CUSA play rank at the top of the league. Cook has ten matches with 40+ assists, including a career-high 59 assists in the four-set win at Liberty on Saturday, Oct. 25. The Wilmington, N.C., native also has six double-doubles in assists and digs and recently surpassed 3,000 career assists, becoming the fourth player in FIU history to reach the milestone. Cook earned CUSA Setter of the Week on Sept. 29.
Middle blocker
Magda Stambrowska earned CUSA Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts last week, totaling 19 blocks and 24 kills across three matches. The senior recorded a season-high eight blocks and seven kills in Friday's four-set win at Liberty before adding six blocks and nine kills on Saturday. She also contributed eight kills and five blocks in Tuesday's match at FGCU. Stambrowska ranks second on the team with 52 total blocks this season.
Freshman
Rebekah Pfefferkorn earned CUSA Freshman of the Week after posting 38 kills over three matches last week, including back-to-back double-digit performances at Liberty. The Cypress, Texas, native tallied 16 kills and six digs in Saturday's four-set win on Oct. 25, followed by 14 kills in Friday's victory. She added eight kills and three digs earlier in the week at FGCU. Pfefferkor ranks third on the team with 161 kills this season and has appeared in 21 matches.
Opposite
Jillian Huckabey has recorded three straight games with double-digit kills, including back-to-back double-double performances with 16 kills and 15 digs on Friday, Oct. 24, and 11 kills with 16 digs on Saturday, Oct. 25. She is second on the team in kills (171) and has appeared in all 23 matches.
Libero
Mandi Morioka anchors the team with 375 digs, ranking third in CUSA. She recorded back-to-back 17-dig matches at Liberty, including 19 digs at FGCU on Oct. 21.
Overall, FIU ranks in the top three in CUSA in assists (1,058) and kills (1,141), and is second in service aces (159).
HISTORY WITH THE GAMECOCKS
This weekend marks the fifth and sixth meetings between the two schools, with FIU holding a 3-1 series advantage. The Panthers traveled to Jacksonville, Alabama, in 2024, splitting the two games, while their last visit to Miami on Oct. 27–28, 2023, resulted in a sweep.
SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE STATE
Jacksonville State enters with an 11-11 overall record and a 5-5 mark in CUSA, sitting sixth in the standings. This past weekend, the Gamecocks earned a two-game sweep of Sam Houston at home, winning both matches in four sets.
Kayla Williams leads the team with 359 kills, averaging over four kills per set. Charlee Solomon has the team-high 789 assists, while Luci Wilkinson has posted 389 digs on the season. Amaya Tolentino and Sanni Rantanen each have 45 blocks.
