MIAMI – The 2025 FIU football schedule will feature three weeknight contests, the return of the Shula Bowl to South Dade Kia Field at Pitbull Stadium and a trip to Penn State during head coach Willie Simmons inaugural season.
 
The Panthers schedule includes non-conference trips to Penn State and Connecticut.  The Nittany Lions advanced to the semifinals during the initial season of the College Football Playoff and FIU will be making its second-ever trip to Happy Valley and its first since 2007.
 
FIU and Connecticut will be meeting for the third time since 2022 when they square off in East Hartford on Oct. 4.  The teams split the two previous match ups.
 
The Panthers will welcome Florida Atlantic for the latest installment of the Shula Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 13 at South Dade Kia Field at Pitbull Stadium.  The match up will mark the Owls' first trip to Miami since 2022.
 
FIU will open the 2025 slate on either Friday or Saturday, August 29 or 30th against an opponent to be determined – details will be available in the following weeks.
 
The Conference USA slate will get underway at home for the Panthers on Saturday, Sept. 20 against Conference USA newcomer Delaware.  The meeting will mark the first contest between FIU and the Blue Hens.
 
The league schedule will once again include midweek clashes that will be nationally televised.  The Panthers will travel to Western Kentucky on Tuesday, Oct. 14 to open the stretch before hosting Kennesaw State on Tuesday, Oct. 21 in Miami.  The final weeknight game will see FIU travel to Springfield, Mo., to take on another CUSA newcomer, Missouri State, on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
 
The Panthers will wrap up the regular season schedule with four Saturday games in the month of November.  FIU will travel to Middle Tennessee on Nov. 8 before hosting back-to-back home contests against Liberty (Nov. 15) and Jax State (Nov. 22).
 
FIU will travel to meet Sam Houston for the regular-season finale on Saturday, Nov. 29 in Huntsville, Texas.
 
The 2025 CUSA Football Championship will take place on Friday, Dec. 5, at the site of the team with the highest league winning percentage.
 
Kickoff times and television designations will be announced at a later date.
