MIAMI – The FIU baseball program suffered a 14-3 setback in seven innings against Bucknell on Saturday night at FIU Baseball Stadium.
The Bison struck early, plating two runs in the first inning. Alex Ulloa drove in his team-leading 17th RBI on a sacrifice fly in the first. Bucknell added two more in the second to take a 4-1 lead. FIU (13-8) trimmed the deficit to six in the fourth when Brendan Roney launched his first home run of the season, a two-run shot. However, Bucknell responded with five runs in the sixth to seal the seven-inning victory.
The Panthers managed just four hits in the contest, with Kishon Frett, Andrew Ildefonso Roney, and Brylan West each recording one.
On the mound, Logan Runde took the loss, striking out five in 3.1 innings of work. Tracen Cameron and Jaydon Bishop provided relief appearances, while Julian Mlodzinski delivered 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out three.
