MIAMI — FIU's 46th-ranked women's tennis program rolled to a 4-0 win over visiting-Liberty in Conference USA (CUSA) action on Friday afternoon at the PayCargo Tennis Center.
The Panthers (11-2) won their ninth-straight match, sweeping the Flames (8-12) in a rematch of the 2024 CUSA Championship Match, of which FIU hosted. FIU took 2-of-3 doubles matches to secure a tightly-contested doubles point. The Panthers then completed three straight set wins in singles for the 4-0 victory.
Katerina Mandelikova clinched the match for FIU at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-4 win. Mandelkova and her partner Anja Draskovic, who was honored pre-match for Senior Day, also clinched the doubles' competition with a 7-6 win. Valery Gynina and Dana Baidaulet won 6-2 at No. 3 doubles to open the day.
88th-ranked Oyinlomo Quadre put FIU ahead 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles. In the top slot, Ekaterina Khairutdinova, ranked 77th, was FIU's second winner in singles, dispatching her opponent, 6-2, 6-3.
