MIAMI – FIU infielder Alex Ulloa has been named Conference USA (CUSA) Hitter of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Ulloa delivered a stellar performance over four games this past week, helping the Panthers secure a series win at Middle Tennessee and claim victory in four of their last five games.

The senior shortstop recorded eight hits across the four games while driving in nine runs. In FIU's 9-1 midweek win at Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday, March 25, he contributed three RBI, including a two-run double.

Against Middle Tennessee, Ulloa notched six hits and six RBI over the series. His standout performance included a three-hit, three-RBI effort in Friday's contest on March 28. He also launched his fourth home run of the season in FIU's 10-5 win on Sunday, March 30. Additionally, he tallied a double and two RBI on two hits in Saturday's 6-5 victory.

Over the last five games, Ulloa has posted a .364 batting average (8-for-22) with three doubles, one home run, and nine RBI.

The Cutler Bay, Fla., native has started all 29 games at shortstop this season, maintaining a .316 batting average. He leads FIU with 28 RBI and ranks among CUSA's top hitters, sitting sixth in hits (10) and fourth in RBI (9) in conference play.

It marks the second weekly award won this season as Kishon Frett earned hitter of the week honors on March 3.
