MIAMI – FIU women's basketball dropped their second-to-last game of the season to Western Kentucky, 83-48.
WKU came out strong, shooting 75% in the first quarter and scoring 21 points. FIU trailed 21-11 going into the second frame.
The Panthers found an offensive rhythm in the second quarter, scoring 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Sophomore Judit Valero led the charge with six points, finishing the game with 12 points and tying her season high with four made three-pointers. FIU went into the break trailing 43-27.
After halftime, the Lady Toppers continued to apply pressure, scoring 22 points and extending their lead into the fourth quarter.
Despite shooting 50% from the field in the fourth and scoring 16 points, the Panthers were unable to mount a comeback, suffering their tenth loss in conference play.
Isnelle Natabou was the only other Panther to reach double digits, scoring 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting. This marked her 20th game of the season in double figures.

FIu will end the 2024-25 regular season campaign at home against Middle Tennessee on Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m.
