MIAMI – FIU redshirt senior outfielder
Kishon Frett has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) / Rawlings Southeast All-Region Second Team, as announced Tuesday morning.
The prestigious honor is voted on by members of the ABCA and coordinated by the ABCA NCAA Division I All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Frett delivered one of the most dominant power-hitting seasons in recent FIU Baseball history. He led the Panthers with 20 home runs—the most in Conference USA and 25th nationally—along with 44 RBI, three triples, and a 1.070 OPS. His 12 home runs in conference play also ranked first in the league. Frett became just the fourth Panther ever to hit 20 home runs in a season, and the first since 2009.
His impressive campaign also earned him CUSA All-Conference Second Team honors.
Frett was hit by pitch a program-record 25 times, ranking 22nd in the nation. He was twice named CUSA Hitter of the Week (March 3 and April 14), and his season was highlighted by two multi-homer games (March 23 vs. Jacksonville State and April 12 vs. New Mexico State) and a walk-off three-run homer to defeat No. 17 Western Kentucky on April 27.
Frett is the first Panther to earn ABCA Southeast All-Region honors since Logan Allen in 2019, and the first position player to do so since Jose Garcia in 2018.
