MIAMI – FIU's baseball program travels to Coral Gables for a midweek matchup against the Miami Hurricanes on Tuesday evening at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.

FIU (10-22) will face Miami in the second of three meetings in the annual crosstown series. The Hurricanes claimed the first matchup, 10-3, on March 18 in at FIU.
The Panthers look to bounce back after splitting their four-game homestand. FIU earned a midweek win over Florida Atlantic on March 31 before dropping two of three to Louisiana Tech in Conference USA (CUSA) play, including a victory in the series opener on April 2.
Offensively, FIU has totaled 246 hits with 166 RBI, including 34 home runs—ranking among the top five in CUSA.
Cooper Rasmussen leads the team with a .301 batting average in 26 games, along with seven home runs and 14 RBI. The junior is currently riding a 17-game on-base streak and has recorded hits in each of his last three games.
Samuel Fischer has been a consistent presence at the plate, posting a .914 OPS while starting all 32 games. He has totaled five doubles, three home runs, and 16 RBI, while leading the team with 29 walks and 12 hit-by-pitches. During the recent homestand, Fischer recorded five hits, three RBI, and two doubles, while reaching base multiple times in both wins.
Andrew Ildefonso leads the team with 35 hits, starting all 32 games while adding eight doubles and 21 RBI. He recorded five hits during the homestand, including a leadoff home run and a two-hit performance in the series opener against Louisiana Tech.
Mario Trivella leads the team with 27 RBI and eight home runs, which is tied for fourth in CUSA. He has appeared in 31 games this season and recorded three hits with two RBI over the weekend.
Aidan Cohall continues to lead the team with 15 doubles, which is tied for the CUSA lead and ranks second nationally. He has driven in 18 RBI and reached base eight times during the homestand.
Cole Cleveland has recorded four hits over his last four games and has driven in 13 RBI this season. He reached base seven times during the homestand, including a two-hit performance on April 4.
Behind the plate,
Marc Hersh and
Caden Sammler split time during the homestand. Hersh recorded a double in the 7-4 win over Louisiana Tech, while Sammler posted his second multi-hit game of the season on April 4.
On the mound, FIU has logged 278.2 innings with 260 strikeouts.
Tyrus Riley holds a 3.04 ERA across 23.2 innings with 26 strikeouts and is coming off a four-inning, five-strikeout performance.
Preston Prince matched his career high with five innings pitched while striking out six batters in the series opener against Louisiana Tech.
Cooper Foster added a career-best four innings with five strikeouts in the series.
Julian Mlodzinski leads the team with seven starts and 33.2 innings pitched.
Jordan Vargas has not allowed an earned run over his last three appearances (4.2 innings).

Tuesday's contest marks the 143rd all-time meeting between FIU and Miami, with the Hurricanes holding a 111-31 advantage in the series.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
Miami enters with a 24-8 record following a series victory over Virginia Tech.
Offensively, Derek Williams leads the Hurricanes with 12 home runs and 48 RBI, while Daniel Cuvet has added 11 home runs and 40 RBI in 32 games.
Brylan West has appeared in all 32 games and has driven in 32 RBI.
On the mound, Rob Evans leads the staff with 42 innings and 53 strikeouts across seven starts. Lazaro Collera owns a 3.27 ERA over 33 innings with 37 strikeouts, while AJ Ciscar has also logged 42 innings. In the bullpen, Jake Dorn holds a 1.96 ERA in 18.1 innings with 21 strikeouts, while Sebastian Santos-Olsen has made five starts and Packy Bradley-Cooney owns a 4.63 ERA.
