CORAL GABLES, Fla. – FIU drops its match to cross-town rival Miami, 2-0.
The match was even for the first half, with both teams' defenses allowing minimal scoring opportunities through the first 45 minutes. FIU went into the half with three shots and two shots on goal, while Miami got off seven shots and two shots on goal.
Miami took an early lead out of the half off the foot of Ciara Alarcon, putting them up 1-0 at the 52:25 mark.
Miami's defense held strong through the rest of the match, while the offense was able to score an insurance goal in the 84th minute to give the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead.
The Panthers ended with five shots to Miami's 16, led by Zora Jackson with three shots and one shot on goal.

The Panthers will stay on the road when they play travel to play Jacksonville on Saturday, September 13 at 7 p.m.
