GAINESVILLE, Fla.– The FIU women's track and field team closed out the Jimmy Carnes Invitational on Friday at the Alachua County Sports and Event Center, highlighted by some strong performances throughout.

The high jump squad showed out, claiming four of the top six spots in the event. Amaya Bien-Aime led the way with a jump of 1.80m (5'10.75"), followed by teammate Luca Keszthelyi, who jumped to a 1.75m (5'8.75") mark to claim second. Gabrielle Flores (4th, 1.70m) and Isabell-Mary Luik (6th, 1.65m) followed just behind.

The pole vault squad also had several top-10 finishes, earning four of the top eight overall. Kylie Neira and Diana Romero-Barba both tied for third with vaults of 3.85m (12'7.5"), leading all college runners behind a pair of unattached athletes.

They were rounded out by Emma Meszaros (6th, 3.75m) and Sydney Nicholson (7th, 3.55m) in the event, and Kendall Meyer also finished in 11th.

The Panthers will return to Gainesville and the Alachua County Sports and Event Center next weekend for the ACSEC Invitational.
