GAINESVILLE, Fla.– Highlighted by a second-place weight throw from senior Octavia McDougle, FIU women's track & field finished competition at the ACSEC Invitational over the weekend.

McDougle, competing in flight two, had a throw of 17.57m to finish just behind the leader in the event. McDougle also competed in the shot put. Alexandra Del Re had a strong effort in addition in the 3000m run, placing second with a time of 9:36.74, also earning a fifth-place finish in the mile run.

Lorena Enamorado placed fourth in the 600m run, finishing with a time of 1:34.34. Her teammate Melania Hernaiz Narvaez placed sixth in the event at 1:40.15.

FIU will be back in action next weekend at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational hosted by the University of Missouri.
