MIAMI — FIU football's Maguire Anderson, who provided a historic punt return TD in the First Responder Bowl, has been recognized as an All-Bowl Performer by the Associated Press.
Anderson delivered a 97-yard punt return TD in the first quarter in FIU's First Responder Bowl matchup with UTSA, setting a new record for the longest-ever punt return touchdown in a bowl game. Additionally, Anderson's return is the longest-ever punt return touchdown in Conference USA history and ties T.Y's Hilton's school record, set against Fla. Atlantic in 2011.
The Lutz, Fla. native entered the fold for FIU as a walk-on in 2024 and has developed into a key contributor for the Panthers on both special teams and offense. Slated to return to FIU for his final collegiate season, Anderson will be a major factor in the 2026 season for the Panthers and head coach Willie Simmons.
