Bark's First Career Goal Stuns Missouri State on Sunday Afternoon

Adria Kitzinger notched her second assist of the season

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Tuva Frejd Bark scores her first career goal as women's soccer wins their second contest in a row, beating Missouri State, 1-0.

The first half proved to be a stalemate. Both teams developed opportunities, with the Panthers getting off five shots and four shots on goal in the opening 45 minutes, while Missouri State recorded six shots and four shots on goal.

Neither team was able to reach the back of the net, sending the match into the half, scoreless.

The second half was much of the same for the majority of the final 45 minutes, with both programs searching for answers but unable to find any until the 83rd minute when a cross into the box from senior Adria Kitzinger found the head of freshman Tuva Frejd Bark, who promptly deposited her first career goal.

The assists proved to be Kitzinger's second of the season, now giving her six points in the 2026 campaign.

The Panther defense held on for the final seven minutes of action, completing their second CUSA victory in a row, and their third conference victory of the season.

Goalkeeper Valery Restrepo and the FIU back line played lock down defense, en route to the team's third shutout of the season, the other two coming against Stetson and Jacksonville. Restrepo ended the contest with six saves on 14 shots seen.

The winning-result was the first time the Panthers ever beat Missouri State, the series history now 1-0-1 in FIU's favor, with the last contest coming in the 2025 season.
