DALLAS, Texas - Women's soccer goalkeeper Valery Restrepo has been named CUSA Goalkeeper of the Week for the period ending October 25, conference officials announced Wednesday afternoon.
Restrepo led the Panthers to a 2-0 week, first beating Sam Houston on Thursday evening in a 3-1 result, before clinching a spot in the CUSA Women's Soccer Tournament with a victory over Missouri State on Sunday afternoon, 1-0.
Playing every minute of the season coming into the weekend, the Colombia native did so again against Sam Houston, playing all 90 minutes, allowing just one goal in the 81st minute when the Panthers already had a 3-0 lead. The senior saved seven shots in the contest en route to the Panthers' first win on the road against a CUSA opponent this season.
The goalkeeper followed up her stellar performance in Huntsville, Texas with another one in Springfield, Missouri, shutting out the Bears and helping clinch a spot in the CUSA tournament. It was Restrepo's first shutout of the conference-slate and third of the season, saving six shots in the process.
The award marked Restrepo's sixth career CUSA Goalkeeper of the Week honor, and first since the 2025 season. It is the third time a Panther has one CUSA Player of the Week this season, with Maya Maxwell winning CUSA Offensive Player of the Week, and Madeline Oliver winning CUSA Defensive Player of the Week so far in the 2026 campaign.
