MIAMI — FIU's women's tennis program fell to 25th-ranked UCF, 4-1, on Friday afternoon at the PayCargo Tennis Center.
The Panthers' performance was highlighted by Katerina Mandelikova, who earned FIU's lone team point with a dominant victory at No. 1 singles. Mandelikova opened her match with a 6-0 win in the first set before outlasting her opponent with a 7-5 win to claim the win.
As a team, the Panthers dropped the doubles point and lost in singles on Courts Two, Four and Six to give the Knights the four-needed points for victory. Vittoria Baccino's match on Court Three and Maria Lucia Araoz-Gosn's match on Court Five both went unfinished.
The loss for FIU is its first at home since March 22, 2022, snapping a 35-match home wining streak.
