Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 34 Princeton

Viktorie Hazmukova provided the lone point for FIU as the Panthers fell 4-1

MIAMI — FIU's women's tennis program dropped its match with 34th-ranked Princeton, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at the PayCargo Tennis Center.

The Panthers (1-3) fell to the Tigers, dropping the doubles point and losing in singles on Courts 1, 2 and 4. Viktorie Hazmukova provided the lone match point for FIU with a 6-0, 6-4 win on Court 6 in singles.

In doubles, FIU cruised to a 6-1 win on Court 1 as Katerina Mandelikova and Hazmukova made quick work of their opponents. The Panthers, however, dropped the doubles matches on Courts 2 and 3 to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the match.

In singles, it was again FIU who had the first match to finish as Hazmukova tied the match at 1-all with her victory. Princeton stormed back, however, with wins on Courts 4, 1 and 2 to clinch the match, 4-1.

Vittoria Baccino's match on Court 3 went unfinished, but she led 6-4, 5-5 in the second set.
