GREENSBORO, N.C. – The FIU swimming & diving set a new program record in the 200 medley relay to highlight day one of the American Conference Swimming & Diving Championship on Wednesday evening at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
In the opening event, the quartet of
Oumy Diop,
Tawannah McLemore,
Diana Santamaria and Frida Stretre Løbersli captured gold with a time of 1:36.24. The mark broke FIU's previous program record of 1:36.47, set at the Mizzou Invite in November and established a new American Conference record.
After day one of competition, FIU sits in fifth place with 209 points after four events
The victory also marked FIU's third consecutive 200 medley relay championship.
The Panthers secured another medal in team diving, as
Brooke Megdall,
Kristina Keenan and
Ruska Lehtonen combined for a bronze finish with a score of 282.25. FIU has now medaled in the event for three straight seasons after earning bronze in 2024 and silver in 2025.
Nicole Frank was FIU's lone competitor in the 200 IM, placing sixth with a time of 2:00.66.
In the 50 free, FIU placed two swimmers in the A Final. McLemore finished sixth in 22.77, while Santamaria followed in seventh at 22.80.
Three Panthers competed in the C Final of the event, with
Olivia Matson claiming first in 23.14. Diop placed second in 23.43, and
Ana Luiza Daisson finished fifth in 23.52.
