MIAMI – FIU baseball senior pitcher Preston Prince and junior infielder Cooper Rasmussen were named to the Conference USA (CUSA) All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office Friday afternoon.

Prince boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in finance and is expected to graduate this summer. The senior has also earned recognition as a Dean's List recipient, Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient, and Conference USA Academic Medal recipient this season.

On the field, Prince has anchored FIU's Friday night rotation this season, making 11 starts while leading the Panthers in 54 strikeouts. He has recorded three outings of six or more innings pitched, highlighted by a dominant performance against Kennesaw State on Friday, April 10, when he tossed 7.1 innings with six strikeouts.

Prince also turned in a career outing against Dallas Baptist on Friday, April 24, striking out a career-high 10 batters over 6.1 innings. During that game, he also earned the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays with a diving catch off the mound. Earlier in conference play, Prince delivered six scoreless innings with four strikeouts at Jacksonville State on Friday, April 17.

Rasmussen holds a 3.93 GPA while majoring in crime science. Like Prince, he has been recognized as a Dean's List recipient, Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient, and Conference USA Academic Medal recipient.

The junior has been a key spark offensively for FIU this season with a .279 batting average while adding 11 home runs and 27 RBI across 47 games. Rasmussen has totaled 13 multi-hit performances this season and has been a fixture at the top of the lineup.

Most recently, Rasmussen recorded two hits, including a double and RBI, in Friday's opener against Middle Tennessee and reached base six times during the weekend series. He is tied for second on the team in home runs, highlighted by his walk-off homer against Kennesaw State on Saturday, April 11.
