MIAMI — FIU's football program received a total of 14 student-athletes named to the 2026 Preseason All-CUSA Team, as released by Athlon Sports. 

The Panthers had five members selected to Athlon's First Team Preseason All-CUSA and a combined nine players tabbed to the Second, Third and Fourth Teams. 

On the First Team, Anthony Carrie earned a selection to the Offense. Defensively, the star FIU trio of Kenton Simmons, Josiah Taylor and Shamir Sterlin all received First Team picks. Return specialist Maguire Anderson earned First Team honors to round out FIU's five honorees. 

Offensive lineman Antonio Tripp Jr. was the lone Panther to earn Second Team. FIU had a slew of Panthers on the Third Team, seven in total, four on offense and three on defense. On the offensive side of the ball, Jojo Stone, Greg Gaines III, Jackson Verdugo and Zaire Flournoy received Third Team recognition. On defense, Dante Anderson, Jai-Ayviauynn Celestine and Demetrius Hill earned Third Team honors. 

Rounding out the FIU nods was Daveion Harley, who was tabbed to the Fourth Team Offense.
