2013 (Senior): Named an Honorable Mention All-Conference USA selection…Played in all 12 of FIU’s games, making 11 starts…Posted a career-high 53 tackles, the most for any FIU defensive lineman in 2013…Ranked ninth in C-USA with 11.5 tackles for a loss…Of those 1.5 TFL, 2.5 were sacks…Also recovered one fumble at Southern Miss (10/5)…Made at least five tackles in six of 12 games…His two TFLs at UTEP moved him up to sixth on FIU’s all-time list…Blocked Southern Miss’ 44-yard field goal attempt as time expired to preserve FIU’s 24-23 victory…Had two blocked field goals in 2013, becoming just the fourth player in FIU history to block two kicks in one season.
 
2012 (Junior): Played in all 12 games, while starting seven…began the season as the starter, making all seven starts in the season’s first eight games…finished with 29 tackles, including 17 solo stops…had 5.5 tackles for loss for 20 yards, including one sack for eight yards…also had two quarterback hurries…had a career-high six tackles vs. No. 18 Louisville (9/22), including two tackles for loss…his effort vs. the Cardinals earned him national honorable mention recognition from College Football Performance Awards…had at least three tackles in six of his appearances…voted by league coaches and media to the 2012 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team...earned unanimous preseason All-Sun Belt Conference First-Team honors from Athlon’s, Blue Ribbon, CBSSports.com, Lindy’s and Phil Steele.
 
2011 (Sophomore): Played in 13 games, while starting 10...helped the defensive line to be the nationally-ranked No. 14 scoring defense, No. 15 in sacks, No. 22 rush defense and No. 30 total defense...recorded 32 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss (fourth on the team and tied for 19th in the Sun Belt)...also had three sacks, four pass break-ups and one quarterback hurry...was the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 19 after his performance in the victory over reigning Conference USA Champion and previously undefeated UCF (9/17)...in the game vs. UCF, recovered a fumble on quarterback Jeff Godfrey, and returned it 51 yards for a touchdown, making the difference in the eventual 17-10 victory...it was the fourth longest fumble return in program history...the UCF game earned him national honorable mention recognition from College Football Performance Awards...had a season-high five tackles at Middle Tennessee (11/26)...posted four tackles vs. Florida Atlantic (11/12).
 
2010 (Freshman): Played in 12 games, including a start against WKU (10/9)...had two stops and was credited for half a tackle for loss against Pittsburgh (10/2)...made a season-best three tackles, including one sack against WKU...registered two tackles in FIU’s victory at North Texas (10/16).
 
Salmen: 2009 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 4A All-State Football Team…2008 and 2009 Louisiana All-District 4A-9 Football Team...2009 All-District 4A-9 Defensive Player of the Year...2009 New Orleans Times-Picayune All-City and All-Metro…as a senior recorded 44 tackles and eight sacks...played for Jerry Leonard...committed to FIU on Jan. 30, 2010…was state runner-up for powerlifting in 2009...competed in the shot put, discus and javelin throw.
 
Personal: Grandmother - Delores Bears...siblings - Tourean, Isiah and Kara...first cousin, Malcolm Pichon, plays football for Louisiana Tech...born May 11, 1991...began playing football at age five...played with the Slidell Youth Football Association.
