FIU Athletics

As a Junior (2012): Named to the 2011-12 SBC Academic Honor Roll for having a 3.0-3.49 GPA… Finished the season with a 3-1 record and a 6.11 ERA in 16 appearances… Started two games… Picked up the win against FGCU (3/28), going five innings… Also started a SBC Tournament game against Middle Tennessee (5/25)… Picked up a save against Middle Tennessee (5/4)… Pitched 35.1 innings with 31 strikeouts during the year.

As a Sophomore (2011): Pitched in three games for the Panthers… Put in an inning of work against North Florida (3/23)… Gave up a run and struck out a batter against Florida Gulf Coast (5/3)… Tossed 1.2 innings against Louisiana (5/28), giving up two runs on three hits and a strikeout. 

As a Freshman (2010): Appeared in three games and sported a 6.75 ERA in 2.2 innings pitched … Appeared against Rutgers and Jacksonville twice.

Prior to FIU: Played for Abel Veulens at Miami Dade Christian High School in Miami, Fla.… Named team MVP his sophomore and senior seasons...  First Team All-Dade and Second Team All-State selection his junior year... Third Team All-Dade his sophomore and senior seasons... Had a 16-6 record with a 2.51 ERA, 184 strikeouts and just 49 walks...  Also hit .407 with four home runs.

Personal: Born September 22, 1991… Son of Jose and Natacha Caballero… Has two older brothers, Jose and Josh… Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2009… Honor roll student all four years… Sport management and recreation major with aspirations of becoming a sports agent.
